One-color, one-piece outfits look slimmer and sleeker than combos and separates. Stretch fabrics and darts can fine-tune a fit.

When doing separates, remember that bright or light colors or prints will draw attention to whatever part of your body you wear them on. Use color and brightness to highlight the features you want noticed.

A top-heavy figure can be balanced with a zebra skirt and black or dark turtleneck.

Show some skin by wearing sleeveless garments! You can always drape a beautiful shawl over your upper arms or wear a sheer over-shirt.

Try the “tight-loose” rule for separates. Wear a snugly fitting camisole under a loose top, for example, or a long, flowing jacket with pants.

The biggest “no”: Never cover up from head to toe! No tent dresses. No baggy clothes at all. Baggy clothes tell all the world that you don’t like your body, or that you’re too poor to afford clothes that fit. You don’t want to give the world either message!

The biggest “yes”: Know what your best features are and play them up. Flaunt them! Choose clothing and styles to accent your shapely legs, curvy bust, long neck, elegant arms, graceful hands, smooth shoulders, and other outstanding features.
